| Weldable or boltable clips ? |
 |
Weldable or boltable clips type will be chosen according to the local conditions : accessibility, site safety or system protection required, ... :
- A weldable clip, with removable fixing bolt inserted and removed from above, is much easier to install and dismantle than a boltable clip which necessitates access from both the top and also underneath the support.
- Regarding the safety aspect, it is more hazardous when working at height to install boltable clips which require safe access to the head of the bolt as well as to the nut.
- Some standards penalise a weldable type solution, by imposing flange thicknesses much more significant than those required for boltable clips.
- Boltable clips can be supplied as 100 % protected by hot dip galvanisation : a major advantage against corrosive atmospheres.
